The Quann off-leash dog park is an ~37 acre area, centrally located in Madison between John Nolen Drive and Park St. It is tucked away between Olin Ave on the north, the Alliant Energy Center & Expo Way (Formerly Quann –Olin Pkwy) on the east, Bram St on the south and Wingra Creek Parkway on the west. It is just east across Wingra Creek from the new Goodman Pool.
If you are lucky enough to be within walking distance of Quann dog park, you can walk on-leash on the bike paths from Bram St (next to the viaduct) on the south. From Olin Ave on the north, the (closed) bike path east of the creek leads to the path/creek off-leash corridor. The bike/pedestrian path on the west side of Wingra creek (along Wingra Creek Parkway) takes you to the bridge over Wingra Creek to either the main field or the south end of the path/creek off-leash corridor. If you are coming from Alliant Energy Center just cross Expo Way to one of several gates along that side.
Parking
There are two parking lots adjacent to the dog park both accessed from Olin Ave.
Parking may become an issue at the Wingra Creek Parkway parking lot in the summer when the Goodman pool is open and the softball diamonds are in use. Additionally, during some Alliant Energy Center events Expo Way may be closed at the Olin Ave entrance or somewhere along its length so that the Quann parking lot cannot be reached from Olin Ave. When Quann-Olin Parkway is closed off, it might be possible to get to the Quann parking lot from the south via Bram St. Here are the directions:
From the corner of Park St (US Hwy 151) and Olin Ave (County MC):
- Parking is available at the end of Wingra Creek Parkway at the Goodman Park Facilities building. Cross the pedestrian bridge over Wingra Creek. This entry provides easy access to the main field through the double gates entry or turn left and enter the path/creek corridor section of the dog park.
- The Quann parking lot is at the end of Expo Way (formerly Quann-Olin Parkway). Follow the signs to the Quann Tennis Complex.
